Weighing only 340g, this highly portable APS-C lens, while not image-stabilised, can easily be attached to a camera with IBIS for everyday vlogging or for travel and street photography when packing light.
12 elements in 10 groups
Despite its compact and lightweight design, this lens delivers exceptional imaging capabilities thanks to its meticulous optical construction. The lens design incorporates 12 elements arranged in 10 groups, including two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements, minimising distortion and enhancing image sharpness at the periphery. It also features one XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) and two LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements to effectively control aberrations, for clear and high-quality images. Furthermore, the advanced BBAR-G2 coating helps minimise ghosting and flare, faithfully capturing details even in backlit conditions.
The lens is also highly practical for outdoor use, with features like moisture-resistant construction and a fluorine coating designed to endure a variety of shooting environments.

Ultra wide-angle photography is achievable at 11mm, with a minimum focusing distance of 0.15m and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4 for stunning macro shots and creative portraiture.
Quick and silent AF
The lens also includes an AF drive system that utilises an RXD (Rapid-eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit, which is exceptionally quiet in operation. This autofocus system provides fast and precise focusing, enabling accurate capture of moving subjects, whether you’re shooting still photos or video. Additionally, the Canon RF mount lens is equipped with an AF/MF switch.
