The Sigma 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS Sport Lens For Sony E offers unparalleled optical performance while remaining lightweight and robust. The 500mm focal length makes this a perfect choice for wildlife, aircraft and sports photographers. The lens has been designed specifically for full-frame mirrorless cameras and is available in both L-Mount and Sony E-Mount.
Lightweight and Robust
The Sigma 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS Sport lens weighs in at only 1370g* and measures just 234.6mm* in length while offering outstanding optics. This makes it easier for you to carry around with you as well as shooting handheld. This has been made possible thanks to the use of low-dispersion glass elements and TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) materials. The lens features a high-speed HLA motor and OS2 algorithm for fast and precise AF along with 5 stops of effective stabilisation.
Professional Features
The 500mm f/5.6 can be used in harsher weather conditions thanks to its weather-resistant structure and oil-repellent coating on the front lens element. Other features include a de-clickable and lockable aperture ring, a Focus Limiter switch, a Custom Mode switch and a detachable tripod socket.
Optical Excellence
The lens features convex low-dispersion elements to ensure that chromatic and axial aberrations are kept to an absolute minimum as well as refractive lenses to reduce flare and ghosting. This makes it ideal to use in backlit situations like sporting events or when strong light sources are in or close to being in frame.
Nice and Stable
The 500mm f/5.6 is perfectly suited to fast-paced action thanks to its HLA motor that delivers extremely fast, accurate and near-silent AF. The lens also features Sigma’s exclusive OS2 algorithm that can produce an effective 5 stops* of stabilisation, allowing it to be used in low-light situations.
There are also 2 OS modes with mode 1 reducing unwanted camera shake at slower shutter speeds and Mode 2 allows for smoother panning shots.
Teleconverter Compatible
The L-Mount version of the lens is compatible with both the Sigma TC-14 II and TC-20 II teleconverters, giving you a focal length of up to 1000mm.
Cover-Type Lens Hood Included
The Sigma 500mm f/5.6 DG DN OS Sport lens comes with a strong and lightweight cover-type lens hood included. The tip of the hood is rubberised to protect the lens from damage when standing the lens nose down.
