Superb Resolution
The Sony FE 400-800mm features 11 aperture blades and is made up of 27 elements in 19 groups. This includes six ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements to ensure outstanding sharpness as well as minimise axial chromatic aberration for high-contrast, detailed images across the entire zoom range.
Always In Focus
The Sony FE 400-800mm is capable of fast, precise autofocus (AF) thanks to two linear motors that enable smooth subject tracking at up to 120 fps burst shooting.
Compact and Lightweight
The lens weighs in at just 2475g which is very reasonable for a lens of this focal length. It is also compact with a length of just 346mm. This is further aided by an internal zoom mechanism that ensures that the centre of gravity is always stable for easier handling out in the field. The lens is weather sealed and features a fluorine-coating.
