The Extender RF 2x is an accessory that complements the RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM zoom, RF 600mm F11 IS STM, RF 800mm F11 IS STM, Canon RF 200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM telephoto lenses.

More Reach, No Loss of Image Quality
The extender features high-refraction, low-dispersion glass to control curvature of field and chromatic aberration of magnification for the highest image quality.

Advanced Lens Design
As well as optimised lens coatings, a 3-layer combined lens helps to reduce ghosting by reducing the surfaces in contact with the air as much as possible.

Designed to Perform in Extremes
The exterior is coated in the same white heat shield coating as used on the RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM and RF 70-200mm lens to prevent deterioration in performance in high temperatures.

Seamless integration with RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM
A mechanism which limits the zooming of the RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM zoom range (300 to 500 mm) prevents the lens elements hitting those of the extender.

No Compromise Construction
Designed for reliability and durability with vibrational shock resistance plus dust and water resistance for use by professionals and high-end amateurs.

Customer Reviews (4.6 / 5 · 5 reviews)

Carter Z. ★★★★★

Finally got this to pair with my 100-500mm lens and the extra reach for wildlife is a game-changer without a noticeable drop in autofocus speed.

Zoe G. ★★★★★

I was worried about image quality loss with an extender, but this RF 1.4x keeps everything sharp even at f/5.6. The extra reach on my 70-200mm is exactly what I needed for wildlife shots, and it locks on securely without any play.

Steven C. ★★★★★

Slapped this on my 100-500mm for a weekend of shooting and the extra reach is exactly what I needed. Autofocus still locks on fast and the image quality holds up well enough that I forget it's even there. Losing one stop of light is the tradeoff, but for daylight shots it's worth it.
